The physicist’s logic

March 31, 2010

When the webmaster saw this picture claimed: “This IS NOT a picture for simple people. I don’t understand what is that”

He apparently consider being close to get a PhD in nuclear physics a thing for simple people, while playing with a lens iris (diaphragm) and focus is a thing for complex people.

The apple economy

March 30, 2010

It might not be a good sign if one of the most amazing moment of my day is to take pictures of a tea infuser, that always made me think about “a little globe full of tea”

My brother, as most of the afternoons, had his cup of tea and ate something at about 5pm (so British-like… ehehe) and today he ate an apple, that he cuts in a very unusual way

that it reminded me of a candle…

He has explained to me and mom the way and the reasons he cuts the apple in such a way.

I guess I can just summarize the whole act into: “eating as much apple as possible”.

My original crazy funny brother hit again!:)

Playing with the new (old) lens.

March 29, 2010

The “new-old” lens as the webmaster called it. New because new on my lens set and old because it’s probably older than me.

Today I played a couple of hours with it. I’m worse than a child, as a “dear friend” said.

[To describe the picture I should talk for about 10 minutes, just know that my brother was doing something... :D ]

When the webmaster saw the picture said: “Does the lens make the pictures looking a little more yellow or I’m wrong?”

My answer (well the one that is good to write on a public place):

No honey, it isn’t the lens, it’s the light that was yellow and it’s probably me making a little mistake with the white balance…

For some crazy reason I like the blue version so much that I decided to publish both.

New Toy!

March 29, 2010

Yeah! Finally the adapter arrived!
I ordered it for St.Patrick Day and it’s finally here:

Now I can “steal” daddy’s cool lens: a 50mm, equivalent 100m on an 4/3 camera f 1.4.

It of course make me loose AF and other automatic settings, but I don’t care at all. I often work in manual and this lens I’m stealing is among the first ones I’ve ever used! [Daddy was crazy enough to make use is camera (with him looking after me and the camera) even before I had my very first camera! :) ]

Thanks to this man who created the adapter now I’ve another cool lens and it cost less than 30 euro!

Isn’t it so lovely?!

Two by Two

March 27, 2010

Since I haven’t go out today and I’ve a terrible lack of imagination, I decided that part of the “project” will be focused on “documenting” the sunflower growth.

Something close to a scientific curiosity, or better just curiosity, than an effective form of “art”.

That’s me too, sorry!

If I’m not wrong it forms two symmetrically placed leaves per “level”,  and each leaf-level is orthogonal to the previous one.

I’m not sure what happens soon before it forms the bud… we’ll see!

I know I might check on wikipedia or anywhere else, and find proper description, but I enjoy to observe nature with my own eyes and picture it when possible.

The English man with the lupara

March 26, 2010

An old stuff coming from Grandma’s house.

I guess it meant to be an English man with a shotgun, but the gun is broken now, so it looks more like an “English man with a lupara [sawn-off shotgun].

I hope the gun was broken due to an incident and not to a “creative” action made from a relative of mine.

Note

I didn’t pick the camera today. It had been a crazy day.

What a coincidence considering the fact that 54 days ago I created a post for today. I’m not kidding, it has been a crazy day that gave me no time to take pictures and I had anyway a 26th March picture. The  year is wrong but ok.

I think I’ll forgive me if sometimes, hope no more, I will find no time to pick the camera but I’ll be able to publish an old picture taken in the same of another year + another “extra picture” I’ve taken since march 13th 2010 that I had not published yet.

There is a new gallery for this project. “A picture a day… keeps blackness away”.

26th March

March 26, 2010

2006 I’ve taken this picture.

springtimeI found this on Feb 2nd 2010. Wrote the post on Feb 3rd 2010…

I just wonder what will happen from now to march 26th, 54 days ahead in the future.

How the day looked like today.

March 25, 2010

I guess “eyes on fire” are a problem for everyone, but, for someone who has to study and who loves taking picture and gets contact with people mainly through the web, a day of “eyes on fire” sounds more like a “standby day”

I just bothered my mother and my boyfriend and wasted water with a shower.

It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?

Unable to take a real-world-like picture.

March 24, 2010

I’ve taken this picture today, but this isn’t, clearly, as the flower looks like in reality.

The colors are different, not because I “changed” them with the editing pictures program, I changed the light, it’s like changing colors but not the same. I know it sounds crazy but… oh, well, if you like it ok, if you don’t, whatever!

Lack of imagination

March 23, 2010

Busy day, studying, as always, and I couldn’t think of anything to take a picture of.

At dinner time mom said: “who wants egg with tomato sauce?”.

After 2 minutes I left the kitchen mumbling “mom you are a genius”, I heard here saying: “what?!”.

I came back with the camera and when I was taking the picture mom said: ” The transparent pan cover is cool, isn’t it?!”.

YEP!

Simple delicious food is great, surely much more than this picture but, “given word is given word”! :)
