Red leaf

October 31, 2010

The last one on the plant.

It made me think about the imaginary experiment of a cube-shaped probe getting close to a backhole that changes colors (turn red) near the Schwarzschild radius (event horizon), that’s because its photons undergo extreme gravitational redshift.

Just my hometown

October 30, 2010

There are so many problems and ugly “corners”, but that’s my hometown and it can still amaze me.

I can do it…

October 25, 2010

… I have to…

…go ahead.

Cleaning up an “universe” of concepts in my very very very very messy mind… a challange!

Please, pray for me, if you want.

A winter color

October 22, 2010

Sicily, lemon, mandarin, oranges… yeah. All this Beauty in Sicily.

In the pictures you can see “just” a few mandarin from the little back yard in the house where my brother lives.

I love them, I love the color they bring to gray winters and how, as every fruit, they offer what is necessary for the the period they are “ready for use” in nature.

[The second friend chose just a "3" and I have chosen a picture I took on the 1st March 2008. Thanks to a very dear, SICILIAN, friend: Merins]

Java in a sweatshirt

October 21, 2010

We were outside and Java was feeling cold, my brother felt cold too, so…

What’s better than wrapping your kitty in your own sweatshirt?

Back in 2003

October 20, 2010

On Facebook, through my status, I asked to my friend to write a casual number in the comment of my status.

Since I’ve curious friends already the first one, answering to my request, said the number and then asked: Why?

Because at times, when I have no new pictures but no will to surf through old shot I love bothering someone asking him/her “tell me a number”. If the friend is “funny” I specify that the number shouldn’t be more than three/four digit, otherwise I do free interpretation of what he/she says.

This time, on FB, the first friend said 122. Since my camera uses 3 digit to write the picture date in the file name. Therefore, 122 can be read both as Jan 22nd and as December 2nd (that the camera actually write as C02).

The picture that came out is this

Taken in January 22nd 2003. That means I used my very first digital camera to take this picture. It was an Olympus C1 zoom, a compact camera of 1.3 mpx.  It’s a jump in the past, when I was 15 and still at the 2nd year of highschool.
Indeed, since I suffer a little of the Peter Pan syndrome (:P),  at that time I used to take a lot of picture of my “toys” usually named after a scientist or a photography.

This specific picture, of “Renè”(from Des Cartes)  studying something was one of the several picture that for years “showed” my status in MSN. Yeah, I was enough crazy to change my avatar several time in a day.

This one of course meant “I’m studying”. There was someone sleeping, someone eating, and so on till telling which was my mood. I would have so much to say about this picture, that is prettychildish, but… that’s a window on my past that can’t be too opened too much on a website.

I have to thank my friend Pokankuni to have said the first number.

In the next post the others picture related to the other chosen numbers ;P

Curiosity?

October 18, 2010

Typical shot, the cat at the window… I just wonder why they love some much looking out of the window.
