Late December: what a perfect period for rose blooming.

Today I wondered if that can be called something like “The Vatican rose”?!
iMac is giving problems again and I can’t figure out the reason.
To avoid loosing all my works I did a backup copy on an external HD. Last time I did a backup was October 2009… it needed to be done. I had problems in saving pictures too! It really bothered me! If this problem won’t be solved soon I’ll go the mac company and bite someone! Gee! I paid 2000€ and after 2 years it’s acting so?! Are you kidding or what?!
While saving all the pictures I’ve realized how messy is the whole folder and how messy and “old” are the galleries on my site. Beside I planned a few changes for the site that involves different aspects of it.
This means that “a picture a day project” will be different for a few weeks, I am no longer taking a picture a day, but I’ll try uploading a new picture everyday. This means that at first I’ll show one by one all the pictures I’ve taken on Sunday (and this might take a week or so) and i’ll keep on doing this even if I go out taking pictures and there are several good ones.
You really will see just a picture a day and, if all the recent shots are over and I still need having time to do other thing, I’ll start showing all “old shots” that are still waiting to be considered…

I do love creating this kind of images while listening to this kind of music:
It might sound strange but if you pay attention to…
Tonight I discovered that I’ve (almost) never taken pictures in October, at least, since I have a DSLR camera (May 2005).
The only “October shot” I’ve been able to find on my computer is the following:
October 2005. 4 years ago. That’s crazy… Looks like I need to take pictures in October too! ;D
That recalled me that when I was born an aunt called me “little rose of May”. I knew it was due to the fact I was born in May (don’t need to be that smart to understand it) but I asked her (after a few years of course! ;P) why “ROSE of May” and she told me that May is the months of the roses, and I was small and cute as a rose… very nice of here, but…
Now, the question is: Why, on my balcony, I can take a picture of a rose in October (as above) or
in February? (The coldest month here!)
Should I tell her about these crazy roses blooming in cold seasons?
Going out carrying my camera means a lot of things for me.
One of these is: forcing myself to look at this world, to focus my mind on what is around me in order to avoid to lose a detail that might enrich my day or, if I am lucky, my life in general.

This picture, that someone likes, that someone commented saying:”It looks lit from inside”… wasn’t shot in a studio (I have never been in a photography studio), I didn’t take it with “special” instruments. It’ just a picture of a (small) rose of a plant on my balcony in a little city on the East Sicilian cost. Nothing more.
That light isn’t a post production artifact, I just “helped” it with a little light level adjustment, it’s natural. It was the sun shining on it… the same sun that all of you know.
A simple detail, a definitely unnecessary picture… it reports nothing, nothing important.
It can just testify that someone, somewhere, a day of a certain year, has gone out on the balcony, just after lunch, holding a camera in the hope to be able to find a reason more to smile, to find a reason more to make someone smiling, to find a reason more to remember that even the smallest and simplest thing (or person) can shine with the Light that is necessary for our lives.
Taking pictures, for me, is a good exercise to practice my eyes to seek that Light, to learn to find it.
Next step?
Being able to understand why God created mosquitoes that keeps me awake at night ;D
