A cramp at 6pm today turned my leg into a “painful appendix” of my body.
This kind of cramps already happened, I know the possible causes and I’m sure pain will be gone in a day or two.
It’s nothing of terrible but it’s really annoying since even lying in bed isn’t comfortable.

In the evening I was aware that this leg wouldn’t let me sleep, indeed at 2.30 am I was still awake in bed.
Being still awake made me so nervous that I focused all my thoughts on my pain, and as you can understand, it isn’t a good thing.I needed a solution.
Reading a book?
Didn’t work.
Listening to music?
Italians say “idem with potatoes”
(And this makes me thinking if Italians thinks about food and cooking every moments of their life).

While I was trying to figure out what to do, it came to my mind that there was an unpublished (and unedited) picture I had taken at the Meeting of Rimini 2010.
(It’s not a totally crazy thought, in these days I had serveral reasons to think about the Meeting of Rimini, about photography and a bunch of thing that can be realted to this picture…).

Then, I decided that sitting wouldn’t have been worse than lying, therefore I got up, sit on my chair and looked for that picture in my back up HD and, as you can see from this post, here it is.

I can’t recall, at the moment, what exactly is. I’m sure it was part of the exhibition about Stephen of Hungary. I remember that taking it hadn’t been easy, but I’m sure that while taking this pictures I realized something that might happen next August.

Pain is still bothering me, but now it feels much more tolerable.
I let you figure out the reason.

Therefore, I’m going back to bed in the hope to get some rest.

It has apparently nothing of special, unless you know the story of it.

The Crucifixion had been completed by Lando di Pietro a Sienese artisan, but his work had been split during a bombing of Siena in 1944. In the splitted had been found two inscription on a parchement, the artist Land had placed these inside the of Jesus.

“The Lord God made it possible for Lando di Pietro  of Sienato carve this crucifix in this wood in the similitude of the real Jesus to remind people of the passion of Jesus Christ Son of God, and of the Virgin Mary, therefore you ture and holy cross of Jesus Christ Son of God, render the said Lando to God”.

The prayer asks the Virgin, Saint John the Evangelist, Saint John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, and all the saints, “men and women”, to recomend Lando to God. He completes his prayer with the statement: “The year of our Lord January 1337 [n.s. 1338] this figure was completed in the similitude of Jesus Christ crucified Son of God living and true. And it is He one must adore and not this wood“.

The second inscription, says also: “Jesus Christ through your mercy let the soul of Lando di Pietro, who made this crucifix, be recommended“.

I think that’s the great aspect of being an artist and believing in God, your art isn’t just the “need to express yourself”, it goes Far Beyond.

At times a friend’s request can be pretty useful .
A friend of mine asked me if I could send him 15-20 pictures taken at the Meeting of Rimini so that he could show them to some pre-teen kids he follows… I had gave up cleaning up those pictures because I’m kinda busy and upset in this period (what a news!) and I said to myself “Well, there I’ve taken enough pictures for a whole year, I have to study now”.

Now Meeting in Rimini gallery is almost already… and I thought that few minutes before dinner, and after several days of darkness on my site a messy, colorful picture could be a prefect restart for posting.

To visit the exhibition (if it wasn’t clear that’s the aspect of the Meeting in Rimini I love more) there are 2 main ways:

- in group where there is a man-woman that expose you the different pannels

- doing a solo tour

There are other ways, like: a friend of mine is one of the guide, let’s visit the exhibition in a fast way that doesn’t disturb other groups but I still have the pannels explained. But, that’s not a common way

Her husband, in the moment I was taking this picture, was taking part to the presentation of one of the exhibition at the Meeting in Rimini (“Flannery O’Connor: The Infinite Measure of Limitation”). I think he cured that exhibition too.

I didn’t got to listen to this talk with the intetion of taking pictures, I was just being curious.

Having the chance to sit in those halls during an event like that is pretty difficult, therefore I was really surprised to discover that I happen to be sitting only a few row behind my friend. This unplanned “favored” position gave me the chance to observe my friend without disturbing her. I could see a silent and nice expression of love of a wife for her husband. I think she was being pretty pride of him, since she shot a lot of pictures (as well as I’d have done if there was my boyfriend talking there).

But something amazed me more: the silent and kind way she did everything.
I was surprised that she didn’t even get up in order to take pictures from another angle; even if she might have disturbed for a few seconds people sitting behind her, I think she had the right of doing it, but, she simply didn’t.

She just took those pictures in that simple and kind way, and that’s probably the reason why it was a really tender and amazing “event in the event”.

Listening to” is one of the main activities among people going to the meeting of Rimini.

This activity is probably more frequent among the youngest ones, whose older relatives and friends tell them those information that a normal visit to an exhibition cannot provide (due to understandable reasons).
