Blowing…

Picture taken while the webmaster was blowing a bubble merged with another one. He says he can see a frog in the middle of the pictures… Have I to get worried for his mental health?

This picture (1 week old) is one of the first pictures that catches what I call the “violet status”. This bubble status is one of the very first moment in a soap bubble life.
Violet as all other colors are shown due to the intereference and reflection of light with the soap film. This cause that initially it shows violet/blue reflection, after comes all the colors in the spectrum sequence, till ending up with a golden yellow.
Therefore, the violet color is visible only soon after you’ve blown the bubble… and if you blow the bubble and then you’ve to take the camera and set the focus you might loose the moment when that color is shown.
Well, another cause of the different colors shown in the pictures is probably different inclination of those “bubble walls”, but I surely don’t want to write a scientific post at the moment. I was just giving a general explanation.
There is a lot to know about soap bubbles (seems strange but this is true) and I’m still at a very starting point.
Someone asked me to write updates about the little guy I found a few weeks ago on my balcony.
The first update I must write is that the free climber had been joined by another little guy, I think of the same kind.
This second little guy is a kind of unwise gentleman (or gentlecaterpillar?), differently from the free climber it decided that it was worth trying to get inside the building from the main door.
This means that a week ago I found it in the hall running (they do run!) toward the stairs.
I cannot avoid appreciating the well mannered little guy, but it’s still pretty unwise to get INSIDE the building where (also) live people that think that what kills the plants in the building isn’t isn’t the lack of water, they think that these little guy are the plants killers…
The second news is that the webmaster bought a old little fish tank he had. We gave them a bigger house.
One of the 2 guys, dunno if it’s the free climber or the unwise gentlecaterpillar spends most of its day trying to climb the smooth walls of their new house…
The other one, probably a little wiser, thought well to start its metamorphosis to become a butterfly/moth:
At least, I think this is a cocoon.
Isn’t this cool?!
Or better “pof”!
That’s the sound that both mom and I have heard today. We’ve been looking around the house to understand what was the cause.
A coke bottle exploded “flooding” the surrounding area and making everything around it sticky. What a joy!
Someone had shaken it very badly…
Today is my boyfriend’s birthday and we have spent the afternoon together
We went to my country house, taking some pictures. He has a camera too, of course
I think I’m lucky because beside me there is someone that enjoys going out together taking pictures.
I think he liked it.
At least, I hope he did.
iMac is giving problems again and I can’t figure out the reason.
To avoid loosing all my works I did a backup copy on an external HD. Last time I did a backup was October 2009… it needed to be done. I had problems in saving pictures too! It really bothered me! If this problem won’t be solved soon I’ll go the mac company and bite someone! Gee! I paid 2000€ and after 2 years it’s acting so?! Are you kidding or what?!
While saving all the pictures I’ve realized how messy is the whole folder and how messy and “old” are the galleries on my site. Beside I planned a few changes for the site that involves different aspects of it.
This means that “a picture a day project” will be different for a few weeks, I am no longer taking a picture a day, but I’ll try uploading a new picture everyday. This means that at first I’ll show one by one all the pictures I’ve taken on Sunday (and this might take a week or so) and i’ll keep on doing this even if I go out taking pictures and there are several good ones.
You really will see just a picture a day and, if all the recent shots are over and I still need having time to do other thing, I’ll start showing all “old shots” that are still waiting to be considered…
Surfing trough my photo I have “discovered” that even the 10th May 2009 I created an HDR shot:
Weird coincidence!
Do you remember the “Christmas snail”?
That sometimes had a walk on my hands?
Today it came with us to the house where my brother lives, all around the house there is a little yard. I left the snail on an orange tree (I think it was an orange tree…).
Hope it will survive
I’ve taken several pictures today, I think I’ll publish them tomorrow.
