The slope and the man

October 25, 2011

He looked like saying to the the world:
“I have serious eyes problems, I am not young, but I won’t give. I still look for order and beauty”

A wonderful answer walking along that terrible slope

It is just…

May 27, 2011

It’s just wind, but it feels like breath

it’s just the sound made by the surrounding vegetation moved by the wind, but it sounds like a whisper coming from far away.

It’s just an hare or a rabbit,
but who said it can’t be enough?

Little friend, I have waited for you so long that I gave up waiting…

Intestead…

You came and you showed up for long enough that I could have killed you if I had a gun… you didn’t even noticed that I was getting closer.

Don’t worry, I would never intentionally hurt you, I shut only pictures to admire your beauty.

The beauty of the light falling on you and passing through your ears, I didn’t know they were so thin

You remind me of the One that created me and you,

No, not by your physical aspect, but you remind me of Him because you appeared exactly when I was thinking

“I’ve seen everything could have been seen today and it wasn’t that much”.

You showed up exactly when I needed it more.

I know, you are scared of me and those other human being making such a big noise and disturbing your world, but don’t worry you can get back to your life soon.

See? Few seconds after you are already back at your running all around showing you little white puffy tail.

Keep on living little one.

I got the message,

it might be just a coincidence, but thanks anyway

🙂

What happened?!?

May 6, 2011

In the last days I worked on a”flyer” and a “poster” for a group of friends that organized a meeting/talk that will take place in Messina on May 20th.

A week ago I thought I were completely unable to create such a thing.
I know, there are people that can make way better works and this one is pretty simple, but…
I fear that, for what concern the artistic field, my learning process can be described as “random learning”, a method that is far away from the “noble” self-study method.

So… I hope you won’t mind if I am proud of these little works ^_^

And I am not talking about the fact that one of the speakers is my boyfriend: the webmaster!!! 🙂

Pensive Java?

April 1, 2011

It can be really tiring to spend a whole day trying to be something you were made for but that you will never be allowed to be…

This, still , won’t worn out curiosity.

Spring comes slowly

March 23, 2011

In the Italian version of this post I borrowed Rondoni’s words to express what I thought while and after I have taken this picture.

This Italian author express a really interesting concept in the few lines I found on the Italian version of Traces journal, but I don’t feel good enough in English to translate someone’s words from Italian to English language.
Therefore, for the first time since I have opened this blog, I have to write 2 different posts… In the English version of the post I want to just report the “meaning” of the few words of this author writing that made me thinking about the picture I had taken on Sunday under a light rain.
Those lines helped me saying what this simple picture meant to me: the idea that Spring comes slowly, with little changes of colors and air. This “slow motion” that you can see a feel in these weeks has always fascinated me, but I have never been able to express this through words…till today I was able only to take pictures of this idea.

I hope Rondoni won’t mind I had used his words this way. ^_^

Figlio piccolo ma alto

February 12, 2011

Merin’s youngest child, that in her blog she named as “figlio piccolo ma alto” (youngest son but tall) since he is really tall and still growing up.

Her (and our) “amazement” should cause no surprise, if you consider that in 3 months will be only his 16th birthday ;D

Java the cat, and the tie #1

January 30, 2011

And today we played with the tie and got a set of “Java the cat, and the tie” pictures…

P.S. I didn’t strangle the cat, I left the tie wide enough that she could have taken it off by herself.

Candelora

January 25, 2011

I know I could have done a couple of things to take a better shot!

I might have taken the picture more centered on the “candelora”, but how missing the woman at the window?
I should have gone downstairs to take pictures, but how could have I get from there the perspective of “common people at home” that like had the afternoon brighten up by such a gesture of religious devotion? Ok, it’s not the most pious manifestation of devotion (you should have listened to the “curious” music they were playing) but still, it’s a good aspect of the life here in Catania.

And probably I could have done a better work on to get a picture with both the aspects of the “common people at home perspective” and the “woman at the window”, but that’s what I got today… the story looks told anyway ^_^

P.S. I admit, I didn’t want to take care of Saint Agata festivity this year (that means:I didn’t want to go out taking pictures of the festivity)… as you can see my blog fell into a silent period because I want seriously to pass a couple of exams in the following 6 weeks.
Of course, this year, for the first time since I have memory, a candelora passed on the street where I live. Curious coincidence that is making me thinking a lot.

P.P.S. In the following days I might post a few other shots taken this afternoon…. I am still thinking if it’s a good idea or not.

Glad for today presents, but a little disappointed by my work

January 14, 2011

In the morning I went to the university, listened to a 2 hours long lectures, got back home to have lunch.

In the afertnoon I and the webmaster have been to Merins’s home to take pictures the various Christmas cribs she places all around her house at Christmas time (and kept out for me to take pictures)…
Actually it is since Christmas 2008 that she tried to invite me to take these.

I’m a little disappointed of the poor work I did in some pictures, even in the one I’m showing here too…

but I hope that tomorrow I can get a few good shots to give to Merins, and learn how to get a better result the next time I try taking pictures like these…

At the moment there is one sure good thing: Merins is giving me a lot of challenging tasks, despite I’m sure Merins doesn’t want to test my skills in photography, I have to double thank her for her “pictures request” 🙂
