Ireland and St. Patrick

March 17, 2010

This isn’t a serious post about Ireland and St. Patrick.

I’ve been in Ireland only 2 weeks during the summer 2003 and I remember pretty few of it.

The first week all it was cold (about 15°C) and in gray shades, the second week I was glad because it was sunny and warm (30°C, poor Irish guys who complained about the extreme hot weather all the week long).

During a visit I saw a pretty “useless but nice” object that got my attention.

It says something like “St. Patrick takes a nap”.

It’s clearly a souvenir, and probably among the most “stupid” ones indeed my brother said that was crazy to buy it, but I liked it!

The colors, the idea, and especially the details of the bird, of the hands in the praying-like position as St.Patrick had fallen asleep praying and his facial expression, they are all amazing details!

This is my way to wish and happy St. Patrick day to all those who celebrate it, hoping they won’t find these pictures offensive but just nice as they are meant to be.
