The baby plumes dance

September 15, 2015

Baby plumes dance - 15th September 2015

In august me and The Webmaster, with the help of my father and The Webmaster’s bro, tried to reproduce the experiment I’m going to talk about in my final essay.
Then the experiment set-up stopped working and in these days I’m trying¬†to create an alternative set up, not a real need for I am seeking more vortex on soap bubbles for a mere¬†personal desire. It’s not still properly working and it might be a little frustrating but yesterday, thanks to a not properly¬†working set-up¬†I could look for a long time at a¬†middle stage of what can be seen with a properly working set-up. That’s the way I discovered how captivating can be the “baby plumes dance”.

Smoke for physics

August 25, 2015

23rd August 2015

It’s about time to say farewell to physics and that it offers reasons to play with my camera.

Odi et amo mind mess.

March 22, 2015

Odi et amo. quare id faciam, fortasse requiris?

nescio, sed fieri sentio et excrucior.

Catullo

One of the few good aspects to have been forced for 5 years to study more Latin than maths and physics ¬†is that now I can sort of understand a bit of it…very little, very slowly, just written form.

The side-effect is that when I am tired I¬†have no clue in what language is the next word I’m thinking.
Italian, English or Sicilian?
The Webmaster complains I use too many words from Milanese (another Italian dialect)

Today¬†I ended up thinking some¬†Latin words…
or better, thinking about the above poetry…not that I could recall, there is the internet for fixing lack of memory but…¬†Latin?!?!
Why is my brain picking such old memories?

Oh well, why am I surprised?
I ended up thinking¬†some bad words in¬†Arab or Klingon…
Not that I know more than 3 words from these last  languages,
or that I am this sure Klingon can be considered a language, but it happens.

I wanted to explore Elvish languages and more seriously Hebrew…

But probably I need a brain defrag first

I guess a proper night of sleep might be the solution

In short: never deal with physics if you are sleep deprived and your mind is already a mess.

Seeking beauty of inclined “planes”

December 3, 2014

Or better, seeking another shade of beauty of inclined planes

Seeking beauty of inclined planes - 16th November 2014

Sorry I couldn’t help it

It is funny to¬†use The Webmaster’s comment to this picture

because he, as every good¬†scientist, can’t help but state the obvious in front of a picture.

This time he saw inclined planes and commented saying :¬†“Oh inclined planes!”

I wonder if it’s scientist way to say “it’s so so picture” but they yet put genuine enthusiasm in say “a cat!” in front of a cat picture, so I am not sure
ūüôā

Anyway, definitely it was amazing ¬†to “study” this game of non vertical lines while having lunch.
I loved how each plane told a different story related to different latitude and different Etna slices histories.

I can see something more ahead, like I might start taking a set of pictures that “explore the beauty”of inclined planes of nature

I know, no one needs those pictures, but as most of the pictures on this website, I take them for keeping my soul awake, and who knows, occasionally share beauty with internet passerby

About time tears and leaving your ground states

October 18, 2014

I might lack of creativity but that’s exactly what I thought when I saw this:

In the "Grotta dei Ladroni" on mt Etna - 18th October 2014

Picture was taken in the “Grotta dei ladroni” (Cave of thieves) on Mt. Etna.
Of course.

What’s behind the picture that cannot be displayed there?

Finding Beauty often requires more than just the “seeking and taking the best picture you can take” effort.
It wants you to overcome your (toxic) “ground states” *.

I woke up¬†in the ground state of “mere laziness”. Tired I wasn’t even sure I wanted to leave home.
I wasn’t sure if bringing my camera but ¬†saw a blue skye¬†and well… “if you go on mt.Etna, you must be dumb to leave your camera at home”

When out, first action was to go to our favorite shop (Servolare) of clothing and other tools for adventurous souls.
(or, in my case, wishing-I-were adventurous soul)

Once I was at the shop, I decide to overcome my ground state of shy lady
(I confess, it is easy because guys running that shop are super kind people)
and I asked a question to know more about amazing places I could visit for picture taking.

The young man, victim of my questions, answered in a very kind way and, out of the blue, he added an advice/information:
“There is a cave on the way to the place you want to visit”

YAY!
Day hardly could have been nicer.

So yes, today Beauty revealed at its best

*Forgive me, that’s a mere¬†side-effect of studying quantum mechanics, if you don’t know what ground state means just click here¬†

Intersection of space-time subspaces

October 3, 2014

Intersection of space-time subsets - 12th August 2014 (in Palermo)

I’m a poet…
probably this is a side effect of arguing with Quantum Mechanics,

I was in Palermo when I saw this moment  and I thought
“funny, looks like in every section of what is in front of me time¬†runs ¬†at different speed”.

I wonder if I need a new brain, mine sounds “burned”.

The cover, finally printed

May 16, 2014

deadANDalive cover - pic taken with smartphone

I created the cover you can see above

I created it to recover after an awful day, “stealing” the idea from a joke found on the web

4 years ago I had the ability to have big hopes and dreams (now it got worse)
I thought that in a few months I was going to use that cover when starting to deal with Relativity and Quantum Mechanics notes

Well… 48 months is not that much later.

For a second, yesterday, I was about to ignore the cover because it is humiliating to realize (once again) that speaking in studies terms, in 4 years I have done what I had to accomplish in maximum 1 year.

Then I thought: “Well? After all this I still let frustration overcome me?”
Nah.

I guess I’m old and crazy enough to be free to enjoy, at least, a work of mine and cheer up my soul before each battle with papers

and I always wanted to bring some colors to those black and white notes.
